01The problem
Cost to date was rebuilt from spreadsheets at month end, by which point an overrun was already a month old and the numbers rarely agreed with anything else.
02What we built
A single costing calculation applied to every entry from site: hours times the right rate for labour and equipment, quantity times rate for everything else, using the rate in force when the work was recorded. Rates are managed in one place, with job-specific overrides. Every report reads from the same calculation, so the numbers cannot drift apart.
03The result
Managers see what a job has cost today, line by line, and every screen shows the same number.
