01The problem
The business had software someone else had built, and it did not do the job. Hours, site diaries, pay, costs and forecasts lived on paper, in spreadsheets and in several apps, and the office retyped the same numbers into each of them.
02What we built
We took the existing system over, steadied it, and built it out piece by piece: time capture, site diaries, checks of claimed hours against the diaries, enterprise agreement payroll exported to Xero, live job costing, budget against actual, monthly forecasts, supplier invoice reconciliation, and an assistant over all of it. Each piece has its own case note.
03The result
More than 50 people use it every day. By our estimate, at typical Australian salaries with on-costs: a full-time payroll workload (about $115,000 a year) is now done by the system, each project manager gets back about two hours a day (about $55,000 a year), and each supervisor about an hour and a half (about $30,000 a year).
