01The problem
Finance staff were reading supplier invoices by eye and typing the fields into the ledger. High volume, low value, and the kind of work where a tired afternoon costs real money.
02What we built
A document pipeline that reads each invoice, extracts the fields that matter with a confidence score attached, and sends anything it is unsure about to a person. Built to run unattended and to fail loudly rather than silently.
03The result
Manual handling time on invoice processing fell by about 40%. The people who were doing the typing moved onto the exceptions, which is the part that actually needed a person.
